The Rt Revd Joseph Aba

Bishop Joseph is the Bishop of the Diocese of Liwolo in South Sudan. He was born in 1970 during the civil war in South Sudan. He grew up surrounded by fighting from the war throughout his childhood and teenage years. After accepting Jesus Christ in 1988, he led many youth revivals and in 2001, he was ordained into the South Sudanese Episcopal Anglican Church. When civil war broke out again, his flock fled and he followed them, becoming refugees in Uganda. He has been leading his church in exile with responsibility for 117,000 refugees, half of them attending his 100 refugee churches, and has since confirmed 2000 young people in the refugee camps. He and his ministry are supported by CRESS, a charity offering Christian Relief and Education for South Sudanese in Uganda.
