  • Nicky & Pippa Gumbel

    Nicky and Pippa are the pioneers of Alpha, an introduction to the Christian faith running in churches of all denominations in 140 countries. Nicky has written several best-selling books including Why Jesus?, Questions of Life, and The Jesus Lifestyle. Having initially trained as a barrister, Nicky went on to be Vicar of Holy Trinity Brompton, a large central London church, for 17 years. Nicky and Pippa now work to support Alpha globally. They are also the authors of a daily Bible commentary called ‘The Bible with Nicky and Pippa Gumbel’ which has over two million global subscribers.

  • Abel & Jacintha Cheah

    Abel and Jacintha are pastors of Holy Trinity Bukit Bintang (HTBB) Church. Jacintha heads up Operations and Church Planting initiatives and Abel is the Associate Vicar and the Leadership Development Director of the Alpha Asia Pacific Hub. Abel previously worked as COO of Alpha Asia Pacific, National Coordinator of Alpha Malaysia, and Head of Regions for Teach for Malaysia. Jacintha previously worked in education as Head of Operations for St Paul’s Theological College Malaysia and for the Teach for Malaysia programme. Abel and Jacintha have a son, Levi.

  • ARCHIE & SAM COATES

    Archie, with his wife Sam, is the Vicar of Holy Trinity Brompton, prior to which they led St Peter’s Brighton for thirteen years. Sam is the founder of the Safehaven Women’s Service and was awarded the “local hero” award by the gardening chain Dobbies and the Teenage Cancer Trust for helping homeless and vulnerable people in 2020. Archie studied Theology at Oxford University and was Associate Vicar at HTB before planting to Brighton in 2009.

  • Lecrae

    Grammy-winning rapper, CEO, best-selling author, investor, and activist. Lecrae's 7th LP Anomaly debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Charts and was certified Gold by the RIAA. He has won 2 Grammys, 3 BET Awards, a Billboard Music Award and 11 GMA Dove Awards and his TV appearances include the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, MTV's Wild 'N Out, Headline News, ESPN SportsCenter and more. Lecrae is a board member and co-chairman at Peace Preparatory Academy and authored a New York Times Best Selling memoir, Unashamed. He is also the founder and co-owner of Reach Records.

    As a pastor, speaker, writer, and disability advocate, Shelbi is giving her life to helping people come alive to the power of God’s presence in and through their weakness. Shelbi has had the opportunity to share her unfolding story of steadfast hope with thousands of people across the country and serves as the pastor of Gathering and Teaching at A Jesus Church in Portland, Oregon.

  • Mark Varughese

    Founder and Senior Leader of Kingdomcity – a growing, vibrant church in 26 locations across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and Latin America, with a thriving online campus. In 2003, Mark left his legal career to pursue full-time ministry. He later had a personal encounter with God, bought a one-way ticket to Malaysia, and planted what is now Kingdomcity, in April 2006. Mark's first book Ready, Fire! Aim captures his personal journey and the Kingdomcity story on paper. Apart from preaching on stage, you would also often find Mark on the piano.

    Award-winning historian, biographer, broadcaster and co-presenter of the podcast The Rest is History.   • Dr Kate Bowler

    New York Times-bestselling author, award-winning host of the Everything Happens podcast, and Associate Professor of American Religious History at Duke University. She studies the cultural stories we tell ourselves about success, suffering, and whether (or not) we’re capable of change. She is the author of Blessed: A History of the American Prosperity Gospel and The Preacher’s Wife: The Precarious Power of Evangelical Women Celebrities. After being unexpectedly diagnosed with Stage IV cancer at age 35, she penned the New York Times-bestselling memoir, Everything Happens for a Reason (and Other Lies I’ve Loved) and No Cure For Being Human (and Other Truths I Need to Hear). Kate lives in Durham, North Carolina with her family.

  • KATE FORBES

    Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch constituency since 2016. Kate spent part of her upbringing in India and, until she was elected as MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, worked as an accountant in the banking industry. Prior to that she studied History at the Universities of Cambridge and Edinburgh. In 2018 she was appointed as Minister for Public Finance and Digital Economy, and was promoted to Cabinet Secretary for Finance in February 2020, a position she held for three years. She ran for the SNP leadership last year, but despite securing 48 per cent of the vote lost out narrowly to Humza Yousaf. She is also a weekly columnist for The National newspaper.

  • FR HAYDEN WILLIAMS

    Capuchin Friar Minor living a life of prayer at the Franciscan hermitage of Le Celle di Cortona, Italy, and ministering as an itinerant preacher of the Gospel. He was baptised in the Holy Spirit as a teenager through the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and after four years of leading the charismatic prayer group in his home parish, felt called for the ordained ministry in the footsteps of St Francis of Assisi. Since ordination, he has ministered as the director of a youth centre, prison chaplain, provincial vicar, itinerant preacher and more. He is dedicated “to prayer and to the ministry of the word” (Acts 6:4), addressing retreats and conferences in various contexts including the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and ecumenical meetings.

  • DR JOHANNES HARTL

    Philosopher, Founder and Catholic theologian. In 2005, Johannes and his wife founded the House of Prayer in Augsburg, where prayers have been held day and night since 2011. His online lectures reach hundreds of thousands across denominations, making topics of faith relevant and understandable in today‘s world. He is an influential mediator between Christian spirituality, philosophy and psychology; a doctor of catholic theology; and the organiser of innovative largescale events such as the MEHR and the SCHØN conference with up to 12,000 people. He lives in Augsburg, Germany with his wife Jutta and their four children.

  • DAN BLYTHE

    Global Youth Director for Alpha and author of Facing Fear 365 which is a daily devotional to help people grow in hope and courage. Dan’s passion is helping young people have healthy conversations about, faith, life and purpose. He is married to Charlie and they live in London with their two boys.

  • IDRIS JALA

    Dato’ Sri Idris Jala is world-renowned for driving transformation and performance for both governments and the private sector. He was the CEO of Malaysia Airlines, held various senior positions in the Shell Group for 23 years and today he is the Chairman of PEMANDU Associates consultancy in Kuala Lumpur, specialising in public sector transformation, business turnaround, and strategic communications. He served as a Cabinet Minister between 2010 and 2017 and in 2014, Bloomberg placed him amongst the top-10 most influential policy-makers in the world.

  • DR AMY ORR-EWING

    International speaker, theologian, and public advocate for the Christian faith. She is the author of multiple books, including Mary’s Voice, Where Is God in All the Suffering? and Why Trust the Bible? Her latest book Lead Like the Real You releases in August 2024. Amy speaks at churches and on university campuses around the world and has spoken in the UK Parliament, the US Capitol, and the West Wing of the White House. She previously served as President of the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics and is an honorary lecturer at the University of Aberdeen.

  • CAREY NIEUWHOF

    A best-selling leadership author, speaker, podcaster, former attorney, church planter, and founder of The Art of Leadership Academy. With over 30 million downloads, the Carey Nieuwhof Leadership podcast ranks in the top 0.1% of podcasts in the world. Carey writes one of the church world’s most widely-read leadership blogs, and his content is accessed millions of times a year. His mission is to reduce the decline in the church. He has extensive experience helping organisations lead through change, develop high-capacity teams, and deepen their personal growth. He holds degrees in law, theology, and history. Carey and his wife, Toni, live north of Toronto, Canada and have two grown sons.

  • DANIELLE STRICKLAND

    Danielle is a spiritual leader, justice advocate, communicator and peacemaker. In her work to train, advocate and inspire people to live differently, she has established justice departments, planted churches, launched global anti-trafficking initiatives and sparked initiatives to help mobilise people towards spiritual life. In 2020 she released the book Better Together: How Women and Men Can Heal the Divide and Work Together to Transform the Future, and her podcast is listened to by thousands globally. Currently based in Toronto, Canada, Danielle is the proud mom of three boys, wife to Stephen, and as an enneagram seven, has been affectionately called the "ambassador of fun".

  • ELISA ALBERTO

    Originally from Italy, Elisa has over 15 years of experience as a business consultant in change management, culture transformation and leadership development, in the corporate world, church and non-profit space (www.igniteand.com). She also coaches executives and leadership teams to embrace new leadership cultures that positively impact trust, collaboration, and engagement. Elisa is also the director of Loretto UK, a Catholic Charismatic community born in Austria and now spread across Europe. Her vision is to see more people stepping up in leadership and faith, truly following Jesus and being a visible testimony of the gospel through their lives and work. She is part of the faculty of the Leadership College London and serves as a trustee of Divine Renovation UK and 24-7 Prayer.

  • SAM AKINLUYI

    UK and Ireland Managing Director for innocent drinks, and Founder of the non-profit, Psalt. Sam is an accredited Executive Coach, Facilitator and Speaker who works with leaders, leadership teams and aspiring talent. He has worked with board/senior level executives across the Financial Services, Legal, Creative and Consumer Goods industries.

  • DR REBECCA NEWTON

    Rebecca is an Organisational Psychologist, founder and CEO of consulting firm CoachdAdviser and serves as a leadership advisor and coach to senior teams globally. She is a Senior Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and faculty member on executive education programmes at Harvard. Rebecca is a regular contributor to Forbes and Harvard Business Review, and the author of Authentic Gravitas: Who Stands Out and Why. She is passionate about the positive impact leadership can have on organisational life and society. Rebecca and her family live in London and attend Holy Trinity Brompton.

  • RT REVD DR GRAHAM TOMLIN

    Director of the Centre for Cultural Witness in London and the author of many books. Graham Tomlin was Bishop of Kensington and the founding Dean of St Mellitus College (where he remains the President). He was also Chaplain of Jesus College Oxford and the Vice Chair of the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Commission on Housing, Church and Community.

  • PETE GREIG

    Founder of 24-7 Prayer, senior pastor of Emmaus Rd church in Surrey and a director of Waverley Abbey. He co-hosts the Lectio365 devotional and the Wildfires Festival. Pete is a Tearfund ambassador, member of The Order of the Mustard Seed, and author of Red Moon Rising, God on Mute and How to Hear God: A Simple Guide for Normal People. He splits his time between a River Wey barge and hosting retreats with his wife Sammy.

  • RACHEL HUGHES

    Senior pastor of Gas Street Church in Birmingham, alongside her husband Tim. Rachel is a passionate preacher, an advocate for fostering and adoption, and pioneer of a women's ministry (alongside her sister), called The Orchard. Rachel has a media background and worked for the BBC before joining Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB) church where she led the creativity and arts department. Rachel and Tim have five children.

  • AMY HUGHES

    Amy has been leading Trinity Church Nottingham for the last seven years alongside her husband Jonny. She is a priest in the Church of England and a mum to four young children. Amy and her sister Rachel have pioneered "The Orchard", a ministry to empower women. Amy's life passion is leading people into the beautiful presence of Jesus where life is transformed and freedom released.

  • NICK PERRYMAN

    Global CEO of Alpha, leading a team of 685 people and curate at Holy Trinity Brompton. Previously a managing director at UBS, responsible for a business unit managing $15 billion of investment assets. Has served on numerous boards and is currently vice-chair of council at Royal Holloway, University of London. He holds master’s degrees in business administration, organizational psychology and theology, and is currently doctoral researcher in leadership at Durham University.

  • SARAH BREUEL

    Founder and director of Revive Europe. Sarah has worked for the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) for 17 years. She was included in Christianity Today’s “33 under 33” list of leaders to watch and served as chair of the Lausanne Younger Leaders Gathering in 2016.

  • JOHANNA WEDDIGEN

    Co-National Director of Alpha Germany and a part-time university lecturer, combining social work and theology. Johanna lives in her hometown of Hamburg, loves travelling the world and networking; encouraging communities to break new ground and keenly supporting new projects.

  • SARAH JACKSON

    Sarah and her husband Tom are both curates at HTB Church in London and lead Love Your Neighbour, a nation-wide initiative with over 2000 churches and organisations tackling the consequences of Covid-19 for vulnerable people. Sarah is also CEO of the Revitalise Trust.

  • PETE WYNTER

    Vicar at St Paul’s Hammersmith, Director of the Leadership College London, and Founding Director at Onelife Leadership, a charitable company working with young leaders around the UK and beyond. Pete speaks and coaches into a range of leadership competencies, with the specialism of increasing capacity and character in Leaders. He is married to Sarah and they have three children and one adorable dog called Luna.

  • DR DARRELL JOHNSON

    For over 50 years, Darrell Johnson has served as a pastor, in the US, the Philippines, and Canada. He has also served as a Professor at Regent College in Vancouver and authored 11 books. He presently serves Alpha Canada as a Bible teacher and is on the teaching team for The Way Church in Vancouver.
